LACTACID ANAEROBIC MECHANISM

By this mechanism ATP is re-synthetized inside the muscle through the partial demolition of glucose without oxygen. Therefore this process, called glycolysis[En2][En3], uses the carbohydrates supply only which are present in the organism disguised as glucose in blood and glycogen in muscles and in the liver. Glucose and glycogen, through various reactions which are quickened by enzymes, are demolished by producing lactic acid as waste.

Although lower than alactacid, this mechanism too is powerful, together with a higher capacity, as it guarantees energy supply for a period of time between one and three minutes: the limiting factor is the production of lactic acid [En2][En3][En4]at the same time, with subsequent decrease of muscular PH. This stops the enzyme processes and causes muscular exertion. Emilife time of the lactate is around 15 minutes, but by making a low-density exercise (stretching), recovery time lowers to 10 minutes.
